Three Texas Health Huguley Nurses Recognized by Local Magazine

The nurses received the 2017 Excellence in Nursing Award.

Three nurses from Texas Health Huguley Hospital Fort Worth South have received the 2017 D Magazine's Excellence in Nursing Award. Only 91 nurses in North Texas were selected as the most outstanding from nominations by patients, nurses and physicians.


Farrah Barnes, RNC-OB was recognized in the Labor and Delivery category. A charge nurse, she trains nursing students and new employees. She has volunteered for several global mission trips, including a ten-month stay in Africa.

Jennifer Flores, RNC-OB, C-EFM, MSN serves as the Women's Services Manager for Texas Health Huguley. With 16 years of experience as a nurse, she serves as the childbirth and community education coordinator, trains nurse leaders and rounds on patients.

Dawna Jennings, RN, MSML, BSN is the administrative director of the Texas Health Huguley Surgery Center. Under her leadership, the outpatient surgery center has received national recognition for exemplary patient satisfaction scores.

"Our nurses are the front line of patient care, and these three nurses inspire and instruct our nursing staff to help achieve the highest levels of compassion and quality," said Vice President of Patient Care Services Tammy Ellis, RN, FACHE.
