Christmas came early to DeLand. Santa helped Florida Hospital DeLand celebrate the grand opening of West Volusia's first Florida Hospital Centra Care urgent care facility with snow, a hot chocolate bar and face-painting.

During this winter-wonderland themed celebration on Nov. 30, attendees toured the new 5,200 sq. ft. facility, located at 2293 S. Woodland Blvd, DeLand.

"As partners in the community's health, we know how important it is to our patients to have access to quick, convenient care during extended hours," said Lorenzo Brown, Florida Hospital DeLand CEO. "Our new Florida Hospital Centra Care facility will offer just that – fast, convenient care for urgent, non-emergency medical needs."

Florida Hospital Centra Care is the area's only hospital-affiliated urgent care provider. From coughs, colds, infections, allergies and flu, to broken bones and other orthopedic conditions, Florida Hospital Centra Care's team of board certified, adult and pediatric-trained doctors, are available for families seven days a week.

Florida Hospital Centra Care offers on-site labs, and other immediate healthcare services such as X-rays, EKG, stitches, physicals, blood pressure testing, immunizations, and more.

This facility is the 32nd Florida Hospital Centra Care in Florida.

"For nearly 35 years Florida Hospital Centra Care has provided trusted, efficient urgent care to children and adults in Florida," said Scott Brady, MD, Florida Hospital Centra Care senior medical director and CEO. "We are proud to serve the Deland community with the opening of our newest location this fall."

Because time is valuable, Florida Hospital Centra Care offers an online reservations system to schedule time to see a doctor when it's convenient. Knowing that injuries and illnesses can happen at the most unexpected moments, walk-ins are always welcome.

Employers and employees can also take advantage of the wide variety of occupational medicine offered by Florida Hospital Centra Care, which includes pre-employment and worker's compensations services, such as work injuries, employee physicals, and drug and alcohol testing for public and private employers of all sizes.
