Womack Rucker, Jr., has served as vice president of Adventist Health System since 1990. He previously served as chief executive officer of Meharry Hubbard Hospital and vice president of health services for Meharry Medical College. His administrative career began at Kettering Medical Center, where he served as assistant director of personnel and administrative assistant to the president. Before joining Adventist Health System, he also served as vice president of Washington Adventist Hospital and president of Riverside Adventist Hospital.
Rucker received his master's degree in hospital and health administration from Xavier University and completed an administrative residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He also completed the Rollins College Crummer Graduate School of Business Management program. Rucker is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and an international consultant who conducts seminars on leadership development topics. He has a passion for sharing presentations on the culture of mission, mission enculturation strategies, mission-based service, guest relations and customer loyalty.
