Richard Morrison is vice president of government and public policy for Adventist Health System. In this role he is responsible for leading analysis, advocacy and education efforts on federal regulatory and legislative policy issues.
Morrison is also president of Adventist Health Policy Association (AHPA). AHPA implements federal policy efforts with five Seventh-day Adventist health systems that include more than 80 hospitals in 17 states.
Morrison has more than 30 years of health care experience in areas such as strategic planning, marketing, mergers and acquisitions, managed care, compliance, government and regulations. He has been appointed to various statewide advisory committees by the Governor of Florida and chairs the Family Practice Teaching Hospital Council, the Mental Health Commission and the Juvenile Assessment Board. Morrison has testified before U.S. Congress and the Florida Legislature on various health care issues.
Morrison graduated from Florida State University, Phi Beta Kappa, and did his graduate work in clinical psychology.
